All Things Lovely – even me. And you, too! Just think: because GOD agrees on this, we need no confirmation from anyone else. Oh, how I needed to understand that a few years back, when heart-wrenching divorce left me feeling unlovely and full of questions without answers.
“Loveliness . . . How?
Femininity . . . Why?
Romance . . . What is it, anway?”
But the toughest question of all was “What do I do with those qualities now?” Searching for answers has led to All Things Lovely.
All Things Lovely
Have you ever felt like the proverbial rug was pulled out from under you? Thought you had it all together but lost the one you loved the most? Foundation vanished, loveliness replaced with loneliness, and thoughts of never being truly happy ever again?
I have. And happiness didn’t even matter anyway because, frankly, happiness is for regular people – and I no longer was. All I needed was to survive. Unhappy and unlovely – but that was okay. Just work. And survive. Don't look for anything more.
Beauty for Ashes
But God had a better plan! He wanted to take the ashes of a broken spirit and make all things lovely again. And He did! I discovered when God is the One Who fixes our brokenness (and not we ourselves), He makes a new creation. That truly is a lovely thing! "He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair." -- Isaiah 61:3.
All things lovely – inside and out: theme for this site and, once again, source of joy in my life. I invite your fellowship along the way. Together, let’s celebrate life and loveliness . . . and sacrifice our ashes of despair on His alter of praise!
